Roughly 90 percent of women experience premenstrual also known as PMS. While symptoms and severity may vary in each woman one common PMS symptom is cyclical breast pain. There are two forms of breast pain, cyclical, and noncyclic breast pain. Cyclical breast pain is breast pain linked to menstruation and often occurs around the ovulation stage of a woman’s menstrual cycle.

During menstruation someone my experience period bloating. Period bloating is when a woman’s abdomen often feels swollen or extended. Often, she can experience this symptom before or during her period. Before a woman starts her period, her progesterone levels fall to allow the uterus to shed its lining. This shedding results in menstrual bleeding. In a study done by National Library of Medicine they found that the changes in progesterone and estrogen levels causes a woman’s body to retain more water and salt. This retention can cause the body’s cells to become swollen which results in bloating.

Past generations of women have paved a way for today’s generation of women and future generations of women to come. One woman that played a pivotal role in women’s suffrage was Susan B. Anthony. Susan was a women’s right activist who spoke out on the rights of labor, equal pay for equal work, women’s rights and was anti-slavery. Susan was born in 1820 in Massachusetts and is one of six children. She was as a Quaker and believed that everyone was born equal under God. Being raised as a Quaker helped shaped and form her beliefs on life.

Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner was an African American inventor born in 1912. Mary was born in North Carolina and came from a family of inventors. Her grandfather, Robert Phromeberger, invented light signals for trains and his invention was later stolen. Her father, Sidney Nathaniel Davidson, patented a clothing press small enough to fit in a suitcase and patented a window washer for trains, and he made barely any money for his inventions. In 1980 her sister, Mildred Davidson Austin Smith, invented a family board game called “Family Treedition.” From a young age Mary was coming up with creative inventions and in her forties, she had patented five different inventions.

The vulva is the outer part of the female genitalia, the organs of the reproductive system, and protects a woman’s sexual organs, urethra, vestibule, and vagina. The vulva is made up of the labia, clitoris, opening of the urethra, and opening of the vagina. When the vulva experiences inflammation from infections, injury that irritates the skin, or an allergic reaction it called vulvitis.
